BACK IN ACTION

I was gone for a while and I do apologize for the delay in providing a new post, but I am now back in action.

I have some great news to report. I have a new job! I moved on from my old job working as a Campus Registrar, at a community college, and starting April 27, I will be an Associate Dean for an online division, at a private university. I am thrilled about this because it will give me the opportunity to work on the academic side of post-secondary education. This is something I've been longing to do. Something else this new job will enable me to do is be an online professor. I have over ten years of professional teaching experience, but have yet to teach a course on the Internet.

Let me use my announcement as a reminder to you all that you control your own destiny. Whether you are looking for a new job, a new opportunity, a new relationship, or a new way of life, never forget that we are ultimately a result of our choices. Don't let the doubters and complainers interfere with what you want for yourself. If I had believed all the news reports and all the doom and gloom I heard so many people talk about, I would have been too fearful to even think about applying for another job. But I wanted more and I fervently felt I deserved it. Yes, our tough economic climate is a reality. What is also a reality is that some companies are expanding, some people are retiring, new positions are being created, and, most importantly, somewhere, some person or some agency, company or group is looking for someone just like you.
